In 1987, Simon joined and eventually became CEO of a small consulting firm which specialized in indoor air quality. The firm grew to be a pioneer and leader in the field, helping commercial real estate owners and managers become leaders of their own in the field of indoor environmental performance. Simon earned a LEED AP credential in 2009 and a WELL AP credential in 2016. Now, Simon has sold his firm and helps other CEOs and real estate executives find ways to make their buildings more productive. Since the Covid pandemic struck, Simon has also been working with building operators and employers on virus resiliency in the workplace.
